Renoscapes

PICTURE: Metro Reno with Mt. Rose and Mt. Slide in the background.  This is what I call a ‘purple dawn’.  I have seen maybe half a dozen of these in 12 years.  They last about 3-5 minutes.

Across the Truckee Meadows, you can see development is king as it is in most of America.

Development is as unruly as the desert.  The Reno and Sparks metro spills and splashes wherever it wants.

However, pull the lens back a way, and the natural beauty of Truckee Meadows and Sierra Mountains mix with colorful and dramatic palettes of clouds.  Reno looks like Eden.

Developers should pay me.

Above: A rainbow colorbombs the Los Altos development  in Sparks, NV.  The slate grey clouds in the far distant background turn the rainbow into a string of brilliant semiprecious jewels.

It is hard to figure out how to give the local Chamber of Commerce its due.

Development is as unruly as the desert.  The metro spills and splashes wherever it wants.

However, pull the lens back and let the natural beauty of Truckee Meadows and Sierras mix with the colorful and dramatic palettes of high desert clouds – and Reno looks like Eden.
